Insider reveals Arsene Wenger in France to discuss two potential Arsenal signings
The Arsenal manager travelled to France to hold talks about signing Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe and Nice midfielder Jean Seri, according to reports
Arsene Wenger is in France to hold discussions about signing Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe and Nice midfielder Jean Serie, according to Emanuele Giulianelli.
The football insider has taken to Twitter to shed light on Wenger’s latest movement as the Arsenal manager looks to bolster his squad after a disappointing season.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League to see the Gunners demoted to the Europa League after their long record of qualifying for the Champions League.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign Mbappe in recent weeks after the 18-year-old’s impressive debut campaign with the Ligue 1 champions.
Seri, meanwhile, scored seven goals and made nine assists in 34 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to propel the Ivory Coast international on the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs.
The Sun journalist Giulianelli took to Twitter to reveal that Wenger is in France to discuss potential deals to sign Mbappe and Seri.
Giulianelli wrote: “Gazidis and Wenger were in Nice to talk about Jean Seri and Mbappe. #Arsenal #AFC.”
The update comes after pictures of Wenger and Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis in Nice circulated on social media over the weekend.
Arsenal were 2-1 winners against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
