Stan Collymore has ruled out Arsenal and Liverpool FC challenging for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners have won their last three top-flight fixtures thanks to a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby at The Emirates before victories over Burnley and Huddersfield Town.

Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table and four points adrift of second-placed Manchester United ahead of the Red Devils’ visit to Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

However, Arsene Wenger’s side are 12 points adrift of current leaders Manchester City with 24 games to play in the 2017-18 Premier League title race.

Liverpool FC, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games following an impressive return of 10 points from a possible 12 in the English top flight.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men are 14 points behind Pep Guardiola’s impressive Citizens side to leave Liverpool FC with a lot of ground to make up in the title race.

Former Liverpool FC striker Collymore believes both Klopp and Wenger’s squads have been very disappointing in the current campaign due to lack of consistency.

“Liverpool aren’t competing, Arsenal aren’t competing,” Collymore told the Daily Mail.

“Not properly, anyway. Nominally, they are, in beating teams by twos, threes and fours here and there.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season and a point ahead of Arsenal to see off the Gunners in the race to secure the final Champions League spot.

Klopp signed four players in the summer transfer window, while the Gunners brought in Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.
