Journalist gives latest update on Aaron Ramsey’s Arsenal contract situation
Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal contract talks are moving in the right direction, according to Charlie Watts

Arsenal’s contract talks with Aaron Ramsey are “moving in the right direction”, according to journalist Charlie Watts.
The Wales international’s situation at The Emirates has been something of a source of uncertainty in recent months due to the fact that his current contract at Arsenal is due to expire next summer.
Ramsey is yet to commit his future to the north London side by signing a new deal, although talks between the two parties are believed to be progressing well.
Now, football.london journalist Watts has claimed that Ramsey is likely to sign a new contract at The Emirates as he delivered the latest update on Ramsey’s situation.
Speaking to football.london, Watts said: “In terms of Ramsey, there is still no agreement. But I did hear from someone I trust last week that things were moving in the right direction and that he thought a new deal was not far away – which is a positive.
“I think he will eventually sign, but Arsenal really have given themselves big issues by letting themselves get into this position again.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to Premier League action after the international break when the Gunners take on Newcastle United away from home next weekend.
The north London side have made something of a mixed start to the new Premier League season, winning two of their opening four games under new boss Unai Emery.
The Gunners have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
