Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is not concerned by Alexandre Lacazette’s recent goal drought for Arsenal.

The French striker has been getting used to life at The Emirates after having signed for the Gunners from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Lacazette has made a relatively strong start to his Arsenal career and has been a regular fixture in the first team for the north London side.

The 26-year-old has scored eight goals and made three assists in his first 22 Premier League games for the Gunners and has looked like a constant threat in front of goal.

However, the forward has not netted for the Gunners since scoring in the 3-1 loss to Manchester United at The Emirates back at the start of December.

Lacazette will be hoping to get on the score-sheet when Arsenal take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

And Wenger has insisted that he isn’t worried by Lacazette’s lack of goals in recent weeks.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday morning, Wenger said: “It [the goal drought] certainly affects him a little bit but I am not worried.

“He was a bit physically diminished on Wednesday night [against Chelsea] because he was not at his best in the game.

“He was very isolated, a difficult game for a striker. Overall I am not worried. He’s in cycles, at the moment this is a more frustrating cycle for him.”

Arsenal head into their clash with the Cherries looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after their 2-2 draw with Chelsea at The Emirates at the start of the month.
