Arsenal have had a £6.1m bid for Alexis Claude-Maurice rejected by Lorient, according to reports.
Mohamed Toubache-TER, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the French club have turned down an approach from the Gunners for the 20-year-old forward.
The same story says that Claude-Maurice was spotted in London with Matteo Guendouzi last week as the north London side look to land the signature of the forward.
According to the same report, Lorient are holding out for a transfer fee closer to £9m for their prized asset.
It is also claimed in the same article that Arsenal could be facing competition from the likes of Monaco and Lille for the signature of the attacker this summer.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form for the Ligue 2 side this season, scoring 14 goals in 35 games for Lorient in France’s second division.
Arsenal are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Unai Emery prepares for his second season in charge at The Emirates.
The Gunners are aiming to end this season on a high when they take on Chelsea FC in the Europa League final in Baku on Wednesday night.
