Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal star was ‘on fire’ against Everton
Arsene Wenger was delighted by Alexis Sanchez's performance for Arsenal against Everton on Sunday

Arsene Wenger lavished praise on Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean helped to inspire Arsenal to a 5-2 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The 28-year-old started the game at Goodison Park as Arsenal put in an impressive performance to bounce back to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to Watford last weekend.
Sanchez scored Arsenal’s fifth goal late on against the Toffees as Wenger’s men recorded an impressive victory against Ronald Koeman’s side.
The Chile international has been working his way back to full fitness for the Gunners after missing the first few games of the season due to an abdominal strain.
However, Wenger was absolutely delighted by Sanchez’s performance for Arsenal against Everton on Sunday.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Wenger said of Sanchez: “He was on fire.
“I believe that he comes back from injury and has worked very hard, Ozil as well.
“The two of them were sharp physically, very mobile and if you have their individual quality, that makes them dangerous against any defender.”
Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.
It remains to be seen whether Sanchez will still be an Arsenal player next summer, or indeed beyond the January transfer window.
Arsenal return to Premier League action next weekend with a home clash against Swansea City at The Emirates.
