Unai Emery has said that it is too soon to talk about the possibility of Arsenal signing Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.

The Spanish playmaker is currently getting used to life at The Emirates after having signed for the Gunners from the La Liga side on a season-long loan deal.

As things stand, Arsenal do not have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season and he is on course to return to Spain next summer.

Recent reports in the media have suggested that Arsenal are keen to land the 23-year-old playmaker on a permanent deal after an impressive start to life for the midfielder at The Emirates.

Emery was quizzed about the recent media speculation on Wednesday, but the Arsenal boss was giving little away when asked about signing the midfielder on a permanent contract.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Emery said when asked about potentially spending £30m to sign Ceballos: “I think it is very soon to say that.

“Ceballos is doing great things here, he is playing regularly. Of course I know he has a lot of potential and I think this is just the beginning.

“But always all the players need time to adapt to the Premier League. He’s in that process and I really want to accelerate it.

“We are trying to use that energy and enthusiasm reflected in the way we want to play.

“He has had some good games, sometimes it’s not been easy for him. But I think that’s normal.

“But I think it’s very soon to say that we want to incorporate him in different conditions.

“We are only in October, still a long way to take that process. The ultimate goal for me with Ceballos is that he can bring us all his potential and help us to achieve all our goals as a team, with more positive performances. We are more than happy to count on him.”

Ceballos will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action with a home clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side are aiming to bounce back from the disappointment of their 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last time out as they dropped out of the top four.
