David Seaman believes that it will take time for Unai Emery to have a positive impact at Arsenal ahead of his first campaign in charge of the club.

The Spanish manager is getting used to life at The Emirates after having been appointed as Arsene Wenger’s permanent successor at the north London club back in May.

Arsenal will be looking to at least mount a challenge for the Champions League qualification spots next season after they ended up in sixth place in the table and without a trophy last term.

The Gunners have not qualified for the Champions League for the last two seasons running, and Emery will be hoping to see some significant improvement from his squad next term.

However, former Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman believes that it will take time for Emery to have a real impact at the north London club and called on Gunners fans to be patient.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Seaman said: “If I am honest I don’t think it will click straight away because it is a new manager,” said Seaman.

“It is a whole new different way of Arsenal. I am back here [at the Emirates Stadium] and I am still seeing Arsene’s face everywhere.

“I see him in the dugout – moaning and groaning, and throwing water bottles, and struggling with his zip, stuff like that.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

The north London side will be aiming to try and challenge for the title in the next few seasons as Emery looks to try and have a positive impact at the club.
