Arsenal have had a second bid for Dayot Upamecano rejected by RB Leipzig despite upping their offer to £65m, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is quoting unnamed reports as saying that the Gunners have upped their bid for the 20-year-old centre-half to £65m but have still had it rejected.
According to the same story, Gunners boss Unai Emery has made bolstering his defensive options his priority before the close of the summer transfer window on Thursday.
The same article says that Arsenal had already had an offer of £55m earlier rejected by the German club as they step up their hunt for a new defender.
The story also claims that Leipzig have shown an interest in a swap deal involving Arsenal’s attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
Arsenal are one defender down after Laurent Koscielny completed his transfer to Bordeaux this week.
