Roy Hodgson has revealed that Arsenal have not yet made a bid that meets Crystal Palace’s valuation of Wilfried Zaha.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move to sign the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international this summer as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
Arsenal have only signed one player so far this summer in the form of Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli, and the Gunners are thought to be working with a restricted transfer budget.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to tempt Palace into selling Zaha this summer, but Hodgson has now revealed that there have been no bids from the Gunners that have met the club’s valuation of the former Manchester United attacker.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Hodgson said: “I don’t think Arsenal have actually made a bid that has come anywhere near our valuation.
“I’m sure the player realises that if someone’s going to take him away from us, he’ll expect clubs to pay the market value.
“Until someone does that, there’s not much to discuss regarding Wilf.”
Arsenal – who have not won the title since the 2003-04 campaign – are looking to strengthen their squad as they aim to try and break back into the top four next season.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the table last term and lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final as they missed out on Champions League qualification for another season.
