Jack Wilshere sends clear message to Arsene Wenger ahead of Man City v Arsenal
Jack Wilshere says he is ready to fight for a first-team place at Arsenal this season

Jack Wilshere has told Arsene Wenger that he is ready to fight for his place in the first team at Arsenal.
The England midfielder has been working his way back to full fitness for the north London side as he looks to earn a regular spot back in the Arsenal first team.
Wilshere has been plagued by injuries over the last few seasons but he has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal team in the Europa League so far this term.
The midfielder has made seven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season but has only featured once as a substitute in the Premier League this term.
And the 25-year-old is clearly determined to hold down a regular spot in the first team as he told Wenger that he is now ready to fight for a place in the side.
Speaking to BT Sport after Arsenal’s goalless draw with Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday night, Wilshere said: “I feel good. I’m trying to get in the team. It’s difficult because there are good players.
“I’m doing OK in training and when I get a chance I’m trying to impress. I’m happy with where I am.
“There’s a little bit more to come but at the moment I’m enjoying my football and being back in an Arsenal shirt.”
Arsenal are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side head into the game looking to close the gap to the leaders down to five points.
