Martin Keown has transfer warning for Arsenal boss Unai Emery
Martin Keown warns Unai Emery that he's taking a gamble by not signing more defensive-minded players for Arsenal

Martin Keown has warned Unai Emery that he is taking a “gamble” by not moving to bring in more defensive-minded players this summer.
Arsenal have been very active in the summer transfer market and they announced a club-record deal to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe last week.
The north London side have also landed Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid and Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli.
Arsenal have also wrapped up a deal for young French defender William Saliba, but he will spend this season on loan with Saint Etienne before reporting for duty at The Emirates next summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of defensive names this summer but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to get any more deals done before Thursday afternoon’s deadline.
And former Arsenal star Keown has admitted that he finds it somewhat surprising that the Gunners have not moved to bring in more defenders this summer.
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mirror, Keown said: “He [Emery] must think he can do it tactically with the players he has.
“Otherwise it’s very obvious that he should have been buying central defenders, or defensively minded individuals both in midfield and at the back.
“So he has made decisions in regards to the personalities he wants and he’s gone after and pursed this talent, so that’s a gamble because we know there is a weakness and only time will tell if he’s got that right.”
Arsenal will kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the table and without a trophy under Emery last term.
