Unai Emery delivers Arsenal injury update on Dani Ceballos
Unai Emery is hoping that Dani Ceballos' injury is not too serious after Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Vitoria
Unai Emery is hoping that Dani Ceballos’ injury is not too serious after the Spaniard was forced off with a suspected hamstring injury during the Europa League clash away at Vitoria.
The 23-year-old came off in the 54th minute of the Europa League clash to cast doubt about his participation in Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Leicester City on Saturday evening.
Ceballos has been a relatively regular fixture in the Arsenal team this season and he has featured in all 11 of the Gunners’ Premier League games.
Speaking after Wednesday night’s game, Emery appeared to suggest that the first impressions of Ceballos’ injury are looking positive.
Quoted by the Daily Mirror, Emery said: “We are going to wait for the analysis tomorrow but, at the beginning, I think it’s a small injury.”
Arsenal are looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday after having won only one of their last four Premier League games.
The north London side are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after having finished in fifth place in the table last term under Emery, and losing the Europa League final to Chelsea FC.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
