Gary Lineker predicts where Arsenal will finish next season
Gary Lineker predicts that Arsenal will finish outside the top four in the Premier League next season
Gary Linker has already predicted that Arsenal will miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League next season.
The Gunners have been coming to terms with missing out on a spot in next season’s Champions League after they finished in fifth place in the top-flight table earlier this month.
Arsenal ended up fifth in the Premier League table and a point behind fourth-placed Liverpool on the final day of the season.
The north London side are expected to confirm on Wednesday that Arsene Wenger has signed a new two-year contract with the Gunners.
However, despite the Gunners having beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup final to win the trophy for the third time in four years, Lineker says Arsenal are a long way behind the top teams in the Premier League.
“Arsenal have got a long way to go at the moment, they’re a long way behind,” Lineker told BBC Radio 5 live.
“If you ask me now whether Arsenal are going to be in the top four next season, I would say most probably not.”
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season.
