Jamie Redknapp has ruled out Arsenal winning the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners suffered their third Premier League defeat of the season in a 2-1 loss at Watford last weekend.

Arsenal made the breakthrough thanks to Per Mertesacker but goals from Troy Deeney and Tom Cleverley overturned the deficit.

The north London side’s misery was compounded by the Watford captain’s withering verdict on Arsenal.

The Gunners have also lost to Stoke City and Liverpool this term to leave Arsene Wenger’s side nine points off the pace.

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when the Gunners went unbeaten throughout the campaign.

Former Spurs midfielder Redknapp emphatically ruled Arsenal out of this season’s title race.

“I don’t think Arsenal can win the league,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

Arsenal signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners won their third FA Cup in the last four seasons thanks to a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

Arsenal haven’t come close to winning the title since 2003-04 even though the Gunners finished in second place in the Premier League table last term.
