Watford secured three points thanks to Tom Cleverley’s added-time winner to hoist the Hornets into the top four and leave Arsenal nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side were 6-0 winners against Watford at Vicarage Road last month to continue their run of 24 goals in their last four games in all competitions.
Former Liverpool captain Redknapp believes Arsenal are a long way behind Manchester City on the evidence of their respective performances at Watford.
“Watford’s victory over Arsenal shows just how wide the gulf is between Arsene Wenger’s side and Manchester City,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“Marco Silva’s side were blown away 6-0 by City at home last month but Arsenal folded when the going got tough at Vicarage Road.”
Arsenal have already lost to Stoke City, Liverpool and Watford in the Premier League this season.
Indeed, the Gunners’ only point on the road in the Premier League this term came in a goalless draw at defending champions Chelsea last month.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
