Thierry Henry has challenged Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to maintain their current form for a sustained run in the Premier League.

The Gunners bounced back from a 2-1 loss at Watford last weekend with a resounding 5-2 victory over struggling Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

Wenger started with Alexandre Lacazette, Ozil and Sanchez in his starting line-up for the trip to Merseyside in what was an attacking line-up for the Gunners.

Ozil scored Arsenal’s second goal at Goodison Park before he teed up Lacazette to make it 3-1 following Wayne Rooney’s opening goal in the Premier League clash.

Sanchez netted his second goal of the Premier League campaign in added time at the end of the top-flight clash after Aaron Ramsey scored Arsenal’s fourth goal.

Former Arsenal striker Henry is hoping Ozil and Sanchez can sustain their current performance level to help the north London side make up some ground in the title race.

“The three players up front scored,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil got amongst the goals.

“Now they need to maintain that for a long run. It’s going to be pretty vital. Let’s see if they can do it.”

Sanchez scored 24 times in 37 games in the Premier League last season despite uncertainty surrounding his future at The Emirates after entering the final 12 months of his current Arsenal contract.

The Gunners snapped up Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal from Lyon in the summer transfer window.
