Martin Keown shocked 29-year-old could have Arsenal future
The Arsenal legend is bemused that Mesut Ozil could have a future at the north London club

Martin Keown admits he is shocked to hear Mesut Ozil could have a future at Arsenal.
The Germany international has struggled in the opening months of the season to raise questions about his commitment to the north London club.
Of course, Ozil is set to become a free agent next summer unless the World Cup winner signs a new deal with Arsenal before his contract expires.
The 29-year-old’s team-mate Alexis Sanchez is in the same contractual situation and was linked with a host of top cubs in the summer.
Ozil, on the other hand, didn’t appear to attract much interest although recent transfer speculation has linked the playmaker with a move to Arsenal’s bitter rivals Manchester United.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Watford, Arsene Wenger appeared to leave the door ajar for Ozil to have a future at The Emirates.
Former Gunners defender Keown concedes he would be surprised to see the German midfielder at the north London club.
“I find the suggestions that Ozil could now be staying at the club astonishing,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
‘Maybe there are not any takers who want to pay his wages?”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term.
