Arsenal told 26-year-old striker would be a top signing
Adrian Clarke says Arsenal's reported interest in signing Alexandre Lacazette for £44m would be a great deal

Adrian Clarke believes that Arsenal’s reported interest in signing Alexandre Lacazette for around £44m this summer would represent good value.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the 26-year-old France international to The Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at the club.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to announce a deal for Lacazette this week but the proposed move is surely likely to excite Arsenal fans.
Lacazette was a prolific goal-scorer for Lyon last season and netted 28 times in 30 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.
And Clarke feels that the move to The Emirates would be a good one for both parties.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Clarke said: “It’s a lot of money but this is a guy who scored over 30 goals last season.
“He’s had two very prolific seasons out of three. He scores a lot of penalties, I think that has to be said.
“His critics suggest that Lacazette isn’t the kind of striker that does a great deal.
“But having watched a fair bit of him last season, I think he’s a really, really good finisher, a real six-yard box predator or 18-yard box predator, give him half a chance.
“That’s nothing (£44m), Kyle Walker is going to go to Manchester City for around about that fee.”
Arsenal will be hoping to secure a return to the Champions League next season after the Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term and missed out on a place in Europe’s elite club competition.
The north London side have so far only signed Sead Kolasinac from Schalke this summer.
