Arsenal are prepared to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City this summer – but only for £80m, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London side are now open to letting the 28-year-old leave the club to sign for the Citizens this summer but will demand a huge transfer fee for the attacker.

The same report says that Manchester City are set to make an opening bid of £50m for the Chile star, but the Gunners want at least £30m more for the former Barcelona star.

Sanchez’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer because of the fact that he has entered into the final 12 months of his contract at The Emirates.

The Chilean is currently on his summer holidays after helping his country reach the Confederations Cup final in Russia.

Arsenal fans will, of course, be still hoping that the Gunners will be able to convince Sanchez to put pen to paper on a new contract with the north London side.

The FA Cup holders confirmed the signing of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette last week as their second summer acquisition.
