Arsenal to battle with Liverpool FC for signature of top 21-year-old – report
Arsenal are set to battle with Liverpool FC for the signature of Thomas Lemar next summer, say reports

Arsenal will battle with Liverpool for the signature of Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar next summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the north London side are set to renew their interest in the France international next year after having been heavily linked with a move for Lemar this summer.
The same report claims that both Liverpool and Arsenal showed serious interest in signing the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window but a move to the Premier League failed to materialise for Lemar.
Indeed, it’s claimed that Liverpool had medical staff on standby in France before they eventually switched their attentions towards signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal in August.
However, the same story says that both Arsenal and Liverpool retain a long-term interest in signing Lemar from Monaco, and that the Premier League sides could be set for a transfer fight next summer for the Frenchman’s signature.
Despite the speculation, however, the same story suggests that it is unlikely that Lemar would leave Monaco in the January transfer window in the lead-up to next summer’s World Cup.
Arsenal ended up only signing two players in the summer transfer window after completing deals for both Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.
