Arsene Wenger sends revealing message to Arsenal fans about Mesut Ozil
Arsene Wenger delivers the latest news on the Arsenal contract situations of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez

Arsene Wenger believes that Mesut Ozil wants to stay at Arsenal and is hoping that the Germany playmaker will commit his future to the north London club.
The 28-year-old playmaker’s situation has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after he and Alexis Sanchez both entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at The Emirates.
Neither player appears to be close to signing a new deal with the club, and both Ozil and Sanchez’s current contracts are set to expire next summer.
However, Wenger has always maintained that he wants both players to stay at The Emirates and the Frenchman seems confident that he may be able to convince the duo to sign new deals.
Speaking at a news conference at Arsenal’s training ground on Thursday morning, Wenger said: “I always said that the fact that we didn’t find an agreement last year doesn’t mean the player will necessarily leave.
“Both [Ozil and Alexis] look happy here and overall I hope that the situation can be turned around.”
But he then added: “At the moment, we are not close enough to announcing anything.”
Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.
The Gunners head into the game looking to build on their recent upturn in form, with their 2-0 victory over Brighton before the international break leaving Wenger’s men fifth in the table and six points behind leaders Manchester City.
Arsenal will at least be looking to break back into the top four this season after their fifth-placed finish last term.
