Arsene Wenger has revealed that Mesut Ozil has been working tirelessly on making sure he is in peak physical shape, and believes that the playmaker can now find his best form for Arsenal.
It has been something of a mixed start to the new season for the playmaker at Arsenal, with Ozil having struggled with injury problems and other issues at the start of the campaign.
However, Ozil was back to his imperious best as he helped to inspire Arsenal to a thumping 5-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Wenger has revealed that Ozil has been working hard to make sure that he’s in top physical condition and credited the Germany playmaker for his attitude.
Speaking to BBC Sport after Sunday’s victory at Goodison Park, Wenger said: “The difference is that he has worked extremely hard physically.
“When he’s in that shape physically, nobody can question his class or the quality of his game.”
Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action next weekend with a home clash against Swansea City.
The north London side are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the title this season.
The Gunners have not won the title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
