Arsenal want to seal deal to sign 29-year-old midfielder – report
Arsenal are trying to negotiate a lower fee with Sevilla to sign Steven Nzonzi, according to reports

Arsenal are trying to negotiate a lower fee with Sevilla rather than having to pay Steven Nzonzi’s release clause, according to reports in France.
French outlet France Football, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the north London side are aiming to try and secure a deal to bring the 29-year-old midfielder to The Emirates this summer.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing Nzonzi this summer following Unai Emery’s appointment as the north London club’s new manager back in May.
According to the same story, Nzonzi has a buy-out clause of €40m (£35.7m) in his contract with Sevilla, but Arsenal are trying to sign him for less than that fee.
Arsenal have already been busy in the summer transfer window and have signed five new players following Emery’s appointment at the club in May.
The Gunners have signed Lucas Torreira, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Matteo Guendouzi so far ahead of Emery’s first campaign in charge.
And it remains to be seen whether there will be any more comings and goings at The Emirates before the transfer window closes on 9 August.
Arsenal will be looking to challenge for a top four finish in Emery’s first campaign in charge at the club next season.
