Thierry Henry admits his shock at the fact that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil may leave Arsenal for free in the summer

Thierry Henry has admitted that he is “astonished” by the fact that Arsenal have allowed both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil’s contracts to run down.
The pair’s futures have been relentless sources of speculation in recent months after they both entered into the final 12 months of their deals at The Emirates.
Neither Sanchez or Ozil look ready to commit their futures to the club by signing new contracts and so the Gunners are facing the very real possibility of losing them on free transfer next summer unless they cash-in in January.
The futures of both players dominated the headlines during the summer transfer window but Arsenal opted not to sell either of them.
Now, Arsenal legend Henry has admitted that he has been shocked by how the situation has been allowed to develop by the north London club.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Thursday, Henry said: “You find yourselves in a situation where those guys can leave without you getting money.
“It’s astonishing for me. How? They’re going to go. Robin van Persie went, I went, a lot of players went – [but] they got money for it. Those guys might go on a free.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to West Brom, before they take on Chelsea at The Emirates next Wednesday night.
The Gunners, who have not won the title since 2004, have had to settle for a season without Champions League football this term after their fifth-placed finish last term.
