Arsenal ahead of Tottenham in race to sign 22-year-old – report

Arsenal are leading Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Gunners are now in “pole position” to land the 22-year-old from Real Madrid this summer.
The same story says that Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Ceballos this summer – and both Arsenal and Tottenham have expressed an interest.
It is claimed in the same article that Ceballos is not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for next season and so he could be on the move this summer.
The story says that Arsenal are now the front-runners to sign the talented midfielder, who scored three goals in 23 La Liga games for the Gunners last season.
He only started 13 league games for Real Madrid last season and the Spaniard may well be looking to move in search of more regular playing time next season.
Unlike Spurs, Arsenal cannot offer any new signings Champions League football next season, with the Gunners having finished in fifth place in the Premier League and without a trophy.
Tottenham, meanwhile, finished fourth and as runners-up in the Champions League.
