Arsenal to battle Tottenham for signing of top 26-year-old in January – report
Arsenal will compete with Tottenham for the signature of Riyad Mahrez in January, say reports

Arsenal will battle with Tottenham for the signature of Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that both of the north London sides are keen on landing the Algerian in the mid-season transfer window.
Mahrez was heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium during the summer transfer window but a switch failed to materialise as Leicester were able to keep hold of the former PFA player of the year.
The same report claims that both Barcelona and Roma were keen on signing Mahrez in the summer but he ended up staying at the King Power Stadium.
Now, the Daily Mirror reports, both the Gunners and Spurs are aiming to sign Mahrez in the January transfer window.
The same story claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger showed an interest in signing Mahrez two years ago, and that he is ready to once again try and sign the winger.
The article also suggests that Leicester could be tempted to sell the winger as Craig Shakespeare looks to bolster his own squad in the January transfer window.
Arsenal lost 2-1 to Watford on Saturday on another disappointing night for the north London side.
