Gary Neville sends message to Arsenal fans after the transfer window
Gary Neville admits that he is sad about the situation unfolding at Arsenal at the moment
Gary Neville has admitted that he is “sad” about the situation at Arsenal so far this season.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already found himself under a huge amount of pressure at The Emirates after a stuttering start to the season for the north London side.
Wenger’s team were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday as they were thoroughly outplayed by the Reds at Anfield.
Arsenal also lost 1-0 to Stoke City in the game before to leave Wenger’s men 16th in the table and reeling from a poor start to the new campaign.
And former Manchester United defender Neville has admitted that he is not pleased by the negativity around The Emirates.
Speaking to Sky Sports, former England man Neville said: “From Arsenal’s point of view, I’m a little bit sad because I didn’t want them to be a story and I wanted the questions about Wenger to fade away because they are a great club and he is a great manager.
“I’m concerned that they could be consumed by negativity.”
Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways when the Gunners take on Bournemouth at The Emirates after the international break.
The north London side have not won the Premier League title since the 2003-04 campaign but have lifted the FA Cup in three of the last four seasons.
Arsenal finished fifth last term as they missed out on Champions League qualification and had to settle for a Europa League place this season.
