Arsenal’s £15m bid for 25-year-old rejected by Napoli – report

Arsenal have had a £15m bid for Jorginho rejected by Napoli, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by the Sun, is claiming that the Serie A club rejected Arsenal’s offer for the 25-year-old midfielder.
The same story claims that Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of Jorginho and has been keeping tabs on the midfielder since 2015.
Jorginho was born in Brazil but is an Italy international and although he is not thought to be guaranteed a first-team spot at Napoli next season, the Serie A club were apparently quick to reject Arsenal’s approach.
The 25-year-old made three assists in 27 Serie A appearances for Napoli last season as they finished in third place in the Italian league.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of players this summer but have so far only concluded a deal to sign left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.
The north London side do not have the lure of Champions League football next season after they finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term.
