Robert Pires reveals whether Arsenal will sign Thomas Lemar in January
Robert Pires claims it is now unlikely that Arsenal will sign Thomas Lemar in the January transfer window

Robert Pires has claimed that it is now unlikely that Arsenal will sign Thomas Lemar in the January transfer window.
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move to land the French midfielder in the summer months and were thought to be close to tempting the Monaco star into a switch to The Emirates.
However, despite all of the speculation, Arsenal were unable to complete a deal to sign the midfielder before the transfer deadline back in August.
There will inevitably be fresh speculation linking Lemar with a possible move to Arsenal in January given that the Gunners were so heavily linked with him in the summer.
However, Arsenal legend Pires now feels that the Gunners are not likely to complete a deal for Lemar, especially if they would have to pay over the odds to land him.
Speaking in an interview with bwin, Pires said: “I don’t know [if Arsenal will sign Lemar in January].
“Arsene tried to buy Lemar, and tried very hard, but I don’t think the move will happen now.
“I don’t think he’s worth £90m, it’s too much, the market is crazy. What would Zidane and Ronaldinho be worth now!”
Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Swansea City at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon as they look to climb the table.
The Gunners have lost three of their opening nine games in the top flight to leave them fifth in the table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the title.
