BBC Sport reporter gives update on Arsenal’s pursuit of William Saliba
David Ornstein gives the latest update on Arsenal and Tottenham's pursuit of William Saliba this summer

Tottenham have joined the race to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne ahead of Arsenal this summer, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to bring the 18-year-old defender to The Emirates this summer as Unai Emery looks to bolster his options at the back ahead of next season.
However, BBC Sport reporter Ornstein has now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are also showing an interest in the young defender – despite Arsenal having been close to tying up a deal.
According to Ornstein, Tottenham have “reignited” their interest and are now “pushing hard” to get a deal done as soon as possible.
Writing on Twitter, Ornstein said: “Negotiations between Arsenal, Saint Etienne and Saliba were in their very final stages – much of it already in the hands of lawyers to agree wording of contracts etc – but Tottenham have reignited their interest and are now pushing hard to get the deal completed #AFC #THFC #ASSE.”
Arsenal have so far only signed Gabriel Martinelli this summer and the Gunners are thought to be keen on bringing in a number of new players before the new campaign.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and missed out on Champions League qualification after they lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final.
Tottenham, meanwhile, finished fourth and lost the Champions League final 2-0 to Real Madrid at the start of June.
