Arsenal in advanced talks to sign 29-year-old – report
Arsenal are close to signing Yann Sommer from Borussia Monchengladbach, say reports

Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are keen to bring the 29-year-old to The Emirates this summer, with Petr Cech and David Ospina likely to depart.
It is claimed in the same story that the north London side want to bring Sommer in so he can compete with Germany international Bernd Leno, who signed for the Gunners this summer.
According to the same article, Arsenal are now close to agreeing a deal to bring the Switzerland international to The Emirates as Unai Emery prepares for his first season in charge at the club.
The north London side have already made five new signings this summer as they look to build a squad at least capable of breaking back into the top four next season.
The Gunners ended up in sixth place and without a trophy in Arsene Wenger’s final campaign in charge of the north London club last term.
Emery has been brought in as Wenger’s replacement and the Spaniard will be hoping to at least help the Gunners break back into the Champions League qualification spots.
