Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner hints at swift return from injury
Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner hints that he could be set to return from his ankle injury sooner than expected

Nicklas Bendtner appeared to give Arsenal a much-needed boost on Wednesday night by hinting that he could be set to return from his ankle injury sooner than expected.
The Denmark international had initially been ruled out for around a month by the Gunners’ medical team after suffering the problem while scoring the opener in the 2-0 win over Cardiff on New Year’s Day.
However, amid media reports that the striker is on course for a return to fitness much quicker than anticipated, Bendtner tweeted: “Game ready before bed. Back soon. #23.”
Arsenal’s next game is Monday’s trip to Aston Villa in the Premier League, before a home clash against Fulham on 18 January.
The news of Bendtner’s speedy recovery would give Arsene Wenger a welcome boost after Theo Walcott was ruled out for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.
The Gunners boss has been linked with a swoop for a new striker in the January transfer market after first-choice forward Olivier Giroud sat out Arsenal’s last two games due to a combination of illness and an ankle problem.
