Arsenal told to spend big on multiple summer signings
Robert Pires stresses the importance of Arsenal spending big in the summer transfer window

Robert Pires has urged Arsene Wenger to splash the cash on bolstering his Arsenal squad significantly this summer.
The north London side have been fairly quiet in the transfer window so far, with the Gunners having so far only recruited left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.
Arsenal continue to be linked with a number of players this summer, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Alexandre Lacazette said to be on Wenger’s radar.
Gunners fans will be hoping to see their side spend big this summer after the north London club missed out on a top-four finish in the Premier League last term, missing out on Champions League football next term.
And former Gunners midfielder Pires has stressed the importance of Arsenal spending big this summer as they look to challenge for the title next term.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Pires said: “Arsenal need to buy some players and spend a lot of money because the first objective, and we need to focus on this objective, is to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season.”
Arsenal ended up in fifth place in the Premier League last season after being pipped to fourth spot by Liverpool by a single point.
It means that the Gunners will have to compete in the Europa League next term.
