Paul Merson predicts where Arsenal, Tottenham will finish
The Arsenal legend is tipping Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four ahead of the Gunners

Paul Merson is backing Tottenham Hotspur to finish in fourth place ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table this season.
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League at the expense of Chelsea FC and Arsenal.
Spurs have managed to finish in the top four in the last three seasons under Argentinean coach Mauricio Pochettino to enforce a power shift in north London.
Tottenham were rather quiet in the summer transfer window but the Lilywhites managed to keep hold of key players such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.
Arsenal ended up in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term to result in Arsene Wenger’s exit at the end of the 2017-18 season.
The Gunners appointed Unai Emery as their new manager and the Spanish head coach signed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastaphopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to improve his squad.
However, former Arsenal star Merson is backing the Gunners to finish outside the top four despite the influx of new talent in the 2018 summer transfer window.
“I didn’t see Tottenham buying anyone anyway, but I’d have them fourth,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“You saw it with Arsenal when they moved to the Emirates, you can’t buy anyone, you have to sell players. They’ve kept their big names, that’s the signings for me. We saw with Arsenal they had to sell a player every summer – if Spurs can get away with that then fair play.”
Arsenal narrowly missed out on silverware last term following losses in the League Cup final and Europa League last four.
