Lauren states his prediction for Arsenal v Tottenham
The former Gunners defender is backing Arsenal to beat Tottenham in Sunday's north London derby
Lauren is confident that Arsenal will ease to victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners will welcome their bitter rivals to the red half of north London as Unai Emery’s side look to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games.
Arsenal bounced back from losses to Manchester City and Chelsea FC with a run of seven victories and three stalemates to hoist themselves up to fifth.
Tottenham have made their best-ever start to the season after collecting 30 points from their opening 13 fixtures, losing to Liverpool FC, Manchester City and Watford.
Spurs will be full of confidence following a 1-0 win over Serie A giants Inter Milan in the Champions League at Wembley on Wednesday night.
Former Arsenal defender Lauren is confident that the Gunners will notch up three points against Tottenham at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
“Tottenham have improved drastically under Pochettino, but they’re still not on the same level as Arsenal,” Lauren told Sportingbet.
“They are getting closer and closer each year and their squad now has strength and depth, which they’ve lacked before.”
Lauren added: “I think Arsenal will beat Tottenham in the derby this weekend.
“This will be one of the toughest games Arsenal have ever played against Tottenham, but they have been excellent at home and I believe the team’s confidence and recent results there will see them take the win.”
Arsenal were 2-0 winners against Spurs at The Emirates last season thanks to goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez.
However, Spurs bounced back with three points at Wembley earlier this year, courtesy of a 1-0 win over the Gunners.
Harry Kane’s 49th minute secured three points for Spurs as they managed to finish above Arsenal for the second successive season.
Unai Emery’s side are three points behind third-placed Tottenham but could move above their bitter rivals with a derby day win.
