Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay €50m (£44.6m) to sign Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha this summer, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Il Messaggero, as quoted by Football.London, is reporting that both Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in the Albania international in the summer transfer window.

The same article states that both Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettino are keen to improve their options between the posts ahead of the 2019-20 Premier League season.

According to the same story, Lazio aren’t prepared to let the promising shot-stopper leave unless the Serie A club receive their asking price of €50m (£44.6m).

Arsenal could be reluctant to spend the majority of their summer transfer budget on a goalkeeper given Bernd Leno’s acceptable performances throughout the Premier League campaign.

Petr Cech announced his retirement ahead of their 4-1 loss to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final to leave the Gunners on the lookout for a potential new goalkeeper.

Spurs, meanwhile, are set to lose Dutch shot-stopper Michel Vorm this summer, meaning that Pochettino will be forced to rely on Paulo Gazzaniga as back-up.

Strakosha has made 122 appearances over the past six seasons at Lazio, although the Albanian only broke into the Serie A side’s first-team during the 2016-17 season.
