Tottenham to rival Arsenal for 18-year-old Ligue 1 defender – report
Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rival Arsenal for the signing of William Saliba in the summer transfer window, according to a report

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rival Arsenal for the signing of Saint-Etienne defender William Salba, according to a report in France.
French media outlet RMC, as quoted by The Daily Star, is reporting that Tottenham are interested in the French teenager despite Arsenal initially leading the race to sign Saliba.
The same article states that Spurs are ready to make an official bid in the coming days following discussions with the player and his agents.
According to the same story, Arsenal are still in negotiations with Saint-Etienne over a fee for the 18-year-old defender.
The French media outlet go on to report that Saint-Etienne want around £20m for the inexperienced centre-half this summer.
The report adds that the Champions League runners-up do have the funds to sign Saliba this summer.
RMC believe Saint-Etienne will look to ask for Saliba to be loaned back to the French team for the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season if they do decide to sell their promising centre-half.
Saliba has only made 16 appearances for Saint-Etienne in the French top flight, underlining his limited experience in top-level football despite his huge asking price.
The Saint-Etienne starlet has been capped for the France Under-20s team.
Neither Arsenal nor Tottenham have signed any players in the summer transfer window so far.
