Gabriele Marcotti sends message to Arsenal, Liverpool fans about top striker
The Serie A expert doesn't expect Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future to be resolved until the final weeks of the summer transfer window

Gabriele Marcotti doesn’t expect Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future to be resolved until close to transfer deadline day this summer.
The Gabon international is expected to leave Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund this summer after the German club parted company with manager Thomas Tuchel.
Aubameyang was thought to be on the brink of a £60m move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, but the Parisian club had a change of heart and opted against signing the striker.
Arsenal and Manchester City have both been linked with a deal to sign the prolific striker this summer, as Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola look to improve their respective squads.
However, perhaps the most natural fit would be Liverpool given that Aubameyang has previously worked with Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund.
The Reds could certainly do with adding a proven goal-scorer to their ranks given Daniel Sturridge’s long-running fitness problems and Divock Origi’s lack of consistency.
Speaking to ESPN FC about Aubameyang’s possible timeline this summer, Serie A expert Marcotti suggested the striker’s future might not be resolved until late August when Dortmund may lower their asking price.
“They quoted a huge price to PSG,” Marcotti said. “That didn’t work out.
“They tried to generate more interest. If Aubameyang wants a move, he will get a move. He might have to wait a bit longer.”
