Sky Sports reporter delivers update on Arsenal’s pursuit of 20-year-old Brazilian
Arsenal are interested in signing Malcom from Bordeaux this summer, according to reports in the British media

Arsenal are being heavily linked with a move to sign Malcom from Bordeaux in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie.
The Gunners are believed to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this month after the north London side agreed to sell Theo Walcott to Everton this week.
The 20-year-old winger has been touted as a target for the Gunners as Arsene Wenger ponders bolstering his attacking options in the mid-season transfer window.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Downie has delivered the latest update on the reports linking Arsenal with a move to sign Malcom this month.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Downie said: “What about arrivals at The Emirates and Arsenal’s pursuit of the Bordeaux winger Malcom?
“Conflicting statements coming from the French club on this one. The Bordeaux president has told L’Equipe in France that things are clear with his agents, they say his contract has not been extended in the summer just to give him away this winter. He went on to say that Arsenal can always try, but they’ll have a hard time signing him.
“Contrast this to the Bordeaux coach, who revealed Malcom is considering an offer from Arsenal.”
Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Crystal Palace in front of their home fans at The Emirates.
The Gunners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they chase Champions League qualification after having missed out on a place in the top four last season.
However, Wenger’s men are already eight points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea as they look to try and close the gap before the season is out.
Arsenal finished fifth and missed out on Champions League qualification last season.
