Arsenal line up £25m bid for Brazilian as first January signing – report
Arsenal are ready to try and make a bid to sign David Luiz from Chelsea in the January transfer window, say reports

Arsenal are ready to make a £25m bid to sign David Luiz from Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are ready to “hit” their Premier League rivals with the offer for the 30-year-old defender, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
Luiz has been struggling with a knee injury in recent weeks and has been out of the Chelsea team amid reports of a falling-out with Blues boss Antonio Conte.
Now, Arsenal are said to be ready to test the west London club’s resolve with a £25m bid for the defender when the transfer window reopens.
Chelsea already have history of selling players to direct Premier League rivals, with Conte having sanctioned the sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen whether the reports of Arsenal’s interest in Luiz will be confirmed with a big-money bid by the north London side.
Arsenal are currently preparing for their crunch top-four showdown with Liverpool FC in the Premier League at The Emirates on Friday night, in their final game before Christmas.
