Arsenal open talks with FC Barcelona about signing 25-year-old – report
Arsenal have opened talks with FC Barcelona about the prospect of signing Denis Suarez, say reports
Arsenal have opened talks with FC Barcelona about the prospect of signing Denis Suarez from the Spanish side this month, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian is reporting that the Gunners are “hopeful” of being able to land the 25-year-old in the January transfer window as Unai Emery looks to bolster his squad.
According to the same report, the two clubs have now opened discussions about the potential move and both sides are hopeful that a transfer can be agreed this month.
Suarez worked under Arsenal boss Unai Emery during the pair’s time together at Sevilla in the 2014-15 season.
The same story says that there is a “keenness” from both clubs for a deal to be agreed this month if possible.
Suarez has struggled to hold down a regular spot at Camp Nou this season and has only made two appearances in La Liga from the bench so far.
Indeed, the attacker has so far only notched up 41 minutes of first team football for FC Barcelona so far this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday night thanks to a 3-0 win at Blackpool.
