Arsenal ‘close’ to signing two players from Sampdoria – report
Arsenal are close to completing a double deal to sign Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen, according to reports

Arsenal are “close” to completing a double deal to sign Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen, according to reports in the Italian media.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that the Gunners have taken “steps forward” in their bid to sign the duo this summer.
It is claimed that Arsenal are prepared to pay around £42m to sign the pair this summer as they look to strengthen their squad.
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign the duo in recent days as Unai Emery sets to bolster his squad ahead of next season, and it now seems that the Gunners are stepping up their interest in the pair.
The same story says that Praet could possibly be a replacement for Mesut Ozil, while Andersen could help to tighten up Arsenal’s leaky defence.
Belgian midfielder Praet, 25, scored two goals and made three assists in 34 Serie A appearances for Sampdoria last season.
And Danish defender Andersen, 23, made one assist in 32 Serie A games for the Italian club.
Arsenal are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to bounce back from their disappointing fifth-placed finish in the Premier League under Emery.
The north London side missed out on Champions League qualification after they lost 4-1 to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final last month.
