Reporter claims Arsenal expressed interest in 28-year-old Man United star ‘six weeks ago’
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol reveals Arsenal expressed an interest in Man United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan six weeks ago

Arsenal got in touch about the possibility of signing Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan “six weeks ago”, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Armenia international has struggled to make a lasting impression at Old Trafford despite some moments of brilliance during his 18-month career at Manchester United so far.
Mkhitaryan has been linked with a potential exit in the January transfer window after falling out-of-favour under Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
The attacking midfielder was linked with a potential move to Serie A giants Inter Milan or a sensational return to Borussia Dortmund.
However, the 28-year-old is now being touted as a potential makeweight in a deal that could see Alexis Sanchez swap Arsenal for Manchester United.
The Red Devils are ready to send Mkhitaryan to the north London club in order to get a deal for the Chile international over the line.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol revealed that Mkhitaryan’s proposed move to Arsenal has been in the works for the past six weeks.
“It’s interesting. Mino Raiola is making it look like this is a transfer for Mkhitaryan and Sanchez is the makeweight,” Solhekol told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“He is making it look like Arsenal have tried to sign Mkhitaryan. He wants to make Mkhitaryan the main player in the transfer. He told us that this has been going on for six weeks.
“He is saying Arsenal got in touch about signing Mkhitaryan first, six weeks ago.”
Mkhitaryan scored Manchester United’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Dutch giants Ajax in the Europa League final back in Stockholm in 2016.
The Manchester United midfielder made five assists in their opening three Premier League games.
