Ian Wright has tipped Dani Ceballos to add presence to the Arsenal dressing room following his loan move from Real Madrid.

The Spain Under-21 international completed a move to Arsenal last week despite interest from other top clubs.

Ceballos has moved to the Gunners on loan for the 2019-20 Premier League season as the attacking midfielder looks to prove a point to Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The new Arsenal signing was one of the stars of the European Under-21 championship this summer as Ceballos helped his Spanish team to win the tournament.

Ceballos follows in the footsteps of Dennis Suarez after the Spanish midfielder struggled to have an impact at Arsenal in the second half of the 2018-19 season after his loan move from FC Barcelona.

But former Arsenal striker Wright is confident that Ceballos will prove to be a big hit at the north London side because he has a point to prove to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

“With Dani Ceballos he is someone with a bit of fire in his belly and he didn’t get on with Zidane,” Wright told his YouTube channel.

“He didn’t give him a chance and made it clear there is a time where you realise that it’s not going to happen so you have to move on. That’s hard for a young player who Madrid invested a lot of money in.

“Hopefully Ceballos is not for him and he can come to us and prove that he’s a top player an hopefully we can make it permanent.

“Again, we’re talking about somebody who is got presence in the dressing room. When you look at Denis Suarez unfortunately for him Arsenal are at a place now where we can’t carry people or passengers.

“He seemed to be someone who was in the dressing room who wasn’t really in the dressing room.

“It was very underwhelming and these two signings are very progressive signings alongside Martinelli who I am watching and seeing a lot of work in pre-season and he looks like he’s settling in and looking very well.”

Arsenal have also signed Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli and Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba in the summer transfer window so far.

The Gunners finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term before suffering a 4-1 loss to Chelsea FC in the Europa League final.

The north London side have’t won the Premier League title since 2004.
