Arsenal table £44m bid to make 26-year-old striker second summer signing – report
Arsenal are hoping to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a £44m deal in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Arsenal have tabled a £44m to sign France striker Alexandre Lacazette in a £44m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon, according to reports.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the north London side want to sign the centre-forward in the 2017 summer transfer window.
The same article states that the Gunners have managed to negotiate Lacazette’s asking price down after Lyon initially asked for £52m.
According to the London-based paper, Arsenal have submitted a club-record offer to sign the striker as Arsene Wenger looks to sign his long-term target.
Lacazette has a prolific record in Ligue 1 since breaking into the Lyon team in 2010 after scoring an incredible 100 goals in 203 appearances in the French top flight.
Arsenal have signed one player in the summer transfer window so far after Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac sealed a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to condemn the north London side to the Europa League next term.
Arsenal did finish the season on a high after a 2-1 win against Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
