Ian Wright tells Arsenal to give top striker £400,000 a week to complete deal
The Arsenal legend tells the Gunners to cough up £400,000 a week to keep Alexis Sanchez at The Emirates

Ian Wright has urged Arsenal to cough up £400,000 a week to keep Alexis Sanchez at The Emirates.
The Chile international’s future still hasn’t been resolved despite Arsenal entering into talks with the South American back at the end of 2016 with 18 months left on his deal.
Now Sanchez has less than a year on his current contract and Arsenal could risk losing the forward on a free transfer next summer unless the FA Cup winners manage to convince the forward to sign a new deal.
The north London side’s Premier League rivals Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Sanchez in what would be a controversial transfer involving two of the division’s biggest teams.
However, the Citizens do have form when it comes to signing Arsenal players considering Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Samir Nasri all swapped The Emirates for The Etihad.
Former Arsenal striker Wright clearly doesn’t want to see that happen again and demanded that the Gunners go ahead and hand Sanchez a mammoth £400,000-a-week deal.
John Cross, the journalist who wrote the Daily Mirror’s story that Sanchez wants £400,000 a week to sign a new contract, asked Wright on Twitter: “Would all the other players accept it? Have no problem with one player getting so much more…?”
And Wright replied on Twitter: “My friend if we go through all these years to get top players then lose one over money 😳@johncrossmirror. He’s worth it 😎.”
Sanchez scored 24 goals in 37 appearances in the Premier League last season.
The Gunners won the FA Cup in May thanks to a 2-1 win against Premier League champions Chelsea at Wembley.
