Emmanuel Petit is backing Arsenal to complete a number of signings in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners endured a largely disappointing 2016-17 season after Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table.

The north London side failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s long reign at The Emirates.

Arsenal are now facing the prospect of a season in the Europa League after Liverpool beat the Gunners to fourth spot in the Premier League table.

Arsene Wenger’s side lost 10-2 to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16.

The Gunners did end the season on a positive note to secure a 2-1 win against Premier League champions Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Former Arsenal midfielder Petit believes Wenger will be in the market for a number of potential signings this summer to overhaul his squad.

“I’m sure Wenger and Arsenal are willing to change things by putting money on the table to bring in players with a winning mentality,” Petit told Sky Sports News HQ.

“I’m sure some players will come in soon and next season will be totally different for Wenger and Arsenal.”

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira led the Gunners to a famous unbeaten season in 2003-04.
