Arsenal have made an offer to sign James Rodriguez but the Colombia international is holding out for a move to Manchester United, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are one of several clubs interested in signing the Real Madrid playmaker in the 2017 summer transfer window.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their squad after the north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term.

The same article says that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain, Juventus and Inter Milan are all being linked with moves to sign the Colombian midfielder this summer.

However, it has also been claimed recently that Rodriguez is “favouring” a move to Manchester United this summer.

The 25-year-old has struggled to make an impression at The Bernabeu since his big-money move to Real Madrid from AS Monaco in the 2014 summer transfer window.

Arsenal, who were linked with a bid for Rodriguez over the weekend, won the FA Cup final at Wembley last month thanks to a 2-1 win against Premier League champions Chelsea.
