Arsene Wenger wants to make 18-year-old Arsenal statement signing – report
Arsene Wenger is targeting Kylian Mbappe to help Arsenal make a statement ahead of the new season, according to reports

Arsene Wenger wants to sign Kylian Mbappe so Arsenal can make a statement ahead of the new season, according to reports in the English media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Arsenal boss views Mbappe as a potential signing that would send a clear message to their rivals ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The same article states that Wenger is keen to sign Mbappe despite Arsenal officially denying have made an £87m offer for the AS Monaco striker in the summer transfer window.
According to the Evening Standard story, Wenger wants to start his new two-year contract on the right note and is hoping to sign Mbappe to appease the club’s disgruntled fan base.
Mbappe, though, is being targeted by Champions League holders Real Madrid as manager Zinedine Zidane looks to make a marquee signing in the summer transfer window.
The teenager scored 15 goals in 26 games in his first season in Ligue 1, while Mbappe found the back of the net six times in nine outings in the Champions League.
Arsenal have only signed Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac in a free transfer from Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 in the summer transfer window so far.
